The Advice surgery is a very popular service and is open to the General Public daily from 2.00pm - 6.00pm, Monday to Friday at the NLMCC Main Front Office.

A Drop-in advice service is offered, though for more comprehensive queries an appointment is needed and must be arranged in advance.

The Services offered are:

• General Advice and Counselling: This includes any general miscellaneous advice.
• Welfare Benefits Information and Applications: This includes advice and assistance in making claims for Housing & Council Tax Benefit, Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income Support, Employment & Support Allowance, Pension Credit, Child Benefit, Working & Child Tax Credits, Carer’s Allowance, Social Fund Grants and Loans, Educational Grants-EMA etc.
• General Housing and Homelessness Advice: This covers general housing advice and housing register applications including Choice Based Lettings.
• Translation and Interpretation: Covering all of the above in the following languages; Gujerati, Hindi, Urdu.
