Jack Petchey Foundation Achievement Award

The Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme

North London Muslim Community Centre has been involved in the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme since 2008. NLMCC progressed from a Silver Award Scheme to the New Gold Award Scheme in January 2009.

Established in 1999, The Jack Petchey Foundation gives grants to programmes and projects that benefit young people aged 11-25. Ahievement Awards are designed to recognise a wide range of achievement, it is not just about being clever, or gifted, but about putting the effort in and doing your best. The scheme works well because young people themselves are involved in nominating and selecting the winners.

NLMCC works with the Youth Forum to select nine young people to receive an Achievement Award.  The winners receive a framed certificate and a cheque payable to NLMCC to be spent on a project/Equipment of the recipient’s choice.

Below gives details of recent winners and the reasons for their nomination.
