NLMCC Coronavirus Response

NLMCC have coordinated a community response to the challenges faced by the community due to coronavirus (covid-19). This is a challenging and testing time, and by pulling together, we can build community resilience for the weeks and months ahead.

As you can appreciate, this is a constantly evolving situation, and there are many scenarios that the community are not prepared for. Your assistance and suggestions are essential in helping us shape our response and to maximise benefit for our communities.

We have identified a team of key workers to assist elderly, vulnerable and needy members of the public who have been affected by this ongoing public health crisis.

We can assist with the following:
• Free meals for people who have been affected by the crisis or are in self isolation.
• Assistance with shopping and pharmacy visits.
• Support through the funeral and burial process.
• Support with other essential tasks.

A form for people seeking assistance can be found here.

We are looking for volunteers to help us with these tasks. If you would like volunteer, or if you know anybody who requires support, please get in touch with us.

Our volunteer form can be found here.

You can contact NLMCC on 020 8806 1147 (EXT 5) or 07853 275 264 between 10am and 4pm. Alternatively, you can send a Whatsapp message to +447853275264 at any time. You can also send an email to taz@nlmcc.org.uk

We would like to thank Aspirar Caterers, Cazenove Road Mosque, Clapton Mosque, Made in Hackney, TPICA, and our tireless volunteers who have helped us bring this service to fruition. Hackney Council, the Metropolitan Police service and the NHS have also provided us with their assistance and expertise. Their contribution has been invaluable to us and has enabled us to provide this service for the community.
